“Growing up, my parents were known for their hospitality both in their own small business and for hosting friends and family in our home. I inherited their love for customer and community service and later, as an architect, designing gathering spaces became important to my practice. The vision of building a local coffee shop as a place for the community to gather grew out of my experience in space-making and hosting. At its heart, the coffee shop is designed to feel and function as the neighborhood living room.”

SMALL BUSINESS
BIG HEART
WyCoCo, as it is known to our regulars, opened in 2018 with a social enterprise business mindset – reinvesting profits in our staff, space, and community organizations and being intentional about the producers and vendors we choose to support.
In 2022 with grant funding from Main Street Ventures, we expanded into roasting. The driving purpose is to create long-term careers for our talented staff as well as to have control over where we source our beans.
We purposefully purchase the majority of our green coffee from organizations that respect and promote the role of women in the coffee industry and their communities. We are so proud to serve coffee that has been farmed and produced by women, roasted by women, prepared by women, and served at a woman-owned shop.

As the coffee shop grew, our team also had the opportunity to renovate the adjacent building as a creative studio, co-working, and event space now known as The Work+Shop, where we host not only social and professional gatherings but also meetings and fundraising events for local non-profit organizations. WyCoCo and the Work+Shop share outdoor patio space including an amazing porch, perfect for showcasing local talent.
